Daniel Hamilton

Director of European Affairs

Daniel Hamilton is the Director of European Affairs at Bell Pottinger Public Affairs.

Prior to joining BPPA in September 2011, he served as Director of the leading civil liberties and privacy think tank Big Brother Watch and Head of European Insight at the leading opinion polling and political research consultancy ComRes.

He has worked in both the House of Commons and European Parliament and was praised in the Total Politics Guide to the 2010 General Election for his “remarkable, encyclopaedic knowledge” of politics.

A regular media pundit, he has appeared on the Today Programme, the World at One, BBC News, Sky News, ITV News, Fox News, Bloomberg, MSNBC and CNN. He was Al Jazeera’s political commentator on the evening of the 2010 British election, broadcasting continuously for over ten hours.

He has worked on political campaigns in the United States, Serbia and Brazil, where he provided international media advice to Jose Serra's 2010 presidential campaign.

He served as a Borough Councillor for four years where he held portfolios with responsibility for finance, economic development and communications.

He is a regular commentator on frozen conflict zones and the political situation in Brazil, the Caucasus and the Balkans. In February 2011, he organised and led the first delegation of young political activists to Kosovo since the end of the war in 1999.

He is a graduate in Politics and International Relations from Royal Holloway University of London.

Away from work, he enjoys independent travel, spending time by the sea and live music.

He holds British, French and Brazilian citizenship.
