Stephen joined Bell Pottinger Public Affairs after five years working for the Liberal Democrats and brings substantial experience of Westminster and Whitehall. He previously worked as a Liberal Democrat Senior Adviser specialising in Health and ran the party's Policy Unit with particular responsibility for the Public Services team covering Education, Local Government and Transport.
As an Adviser, he was responsible for media relations, policy development, speech writing, and wrote the party's health manifesto for the General Election. Prior to that he was the party's Culture, Media and Sport Adviser for two years, and had responsibility for Constitutional Affairs and Youth and Equalities issues. He has also worked for Don Foster MP, the Youth Justice Board, Better Regulation Executive, and Tom Brake MP. Stephen continues to have excellent contacts with the Liberal Democrat party, Whitehall civil servants and with many political journalists.
Stephen has a wide range of public relations and communications experience. His current clients range across a number of different sectors including industry leaders from the health, food and drink, financial services, construction and defence sectors.
