Consultant
Liz joined BPPA as a Consultant in June 2009 from the House of Lords where she worked as a researcher for the House of Lords Shadow Minister for Children Schools and Families, Baroness Verma. During her time as part of the shadow education team Liz wrote speeches, conducted research and advised on the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill.
Prior to this Liz worked as a freelance broadcast assistant for BBC Newsnight and as a researcher on the documentary ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ Liz has also carried out an internship at the CNN London Newsdesk.
Liz has a degree in history and politics from the University of York and a Masters from the University of Bristol. Whilst at university Liz edited the university magazine and was an elected events organiser for her college. Prior to her studies Liz spent six months in Russia, where she spent time working as an English Editor in Moscow, at a language school in St Petersburg and helping at a children’s camp in Siberia. Liz has recently begun studying the Russian language again.
