Paul has been a consultant for over sixteen years, advising senior management in leading companies, trade bodies and professional associations on their communications strategies, tactics, messaging and policy.

Having advised HSBC Holdings for over ten years, Paul has recently returned to BPPA from a two-year secondment at HSBC Bank plc where he created a new proactive engagement strategy, managed a range of high profile policy issues, regularly briefed the leadership team on key issues of the day, and represented the bank in both industry and government discussions.

With a detailed knowledge of the machinery of government, parliament and the legislative process, he has successfully worked on several competition inquiries and the amendment of numerous Government Bills.

Paul started his career with The Russell Partnership, one of the first public affairs companies in the UK.
