Neil Stockley has been a Director at Bell Pottinger Public Affairs since January 2002. He has more than twenty years’ experience in politics and public affairs in the UK and New Zealand.
Neil’s specialist area is energy and environment policy. He helps companies to bring together political and communications strategies on climate change and related issues. Neil provides political counsel on the full range of issues around energy policy, including security of supply, network investment, planning reform, promoting renewable energy and linkages with social policy. He has helped a number of electricity and water companies to bring together their stakeholder strategies for price reviews. He has also advised companies on water policy and legislation.
Neil also works with a leading group in the communications sector, a global player in the extractive industries sector and a major City law firm.
Neil is a former Director of Policy for the Liberal Democrats. He is a member of the party’s Federal Policy Committee and in 2007 chaired the working group that developed a new climate change policy for the Liberal Democrats.
Neil was an executive assistant to the New Zealand Prime Minister, David Lange, and Head of Research for the NZ Labour Party
