Bell Pottinger Public Affairs will be sponsoring the Donaldson Lecture at the Scottish National Party's Autumn Conference this Saturday. This is the first time BPPA has sponsored an event at the SNP party conference, reflecting a growing interest in Scottish politics amongst clients. The team has attended the SNP Conference for the past two years and BPPA works in partnership with McGrigors, a leading Scottish lobbying firm based in Edinburgh.
The Donaldson lecture - named in honour of 1960's SNP convener Arthur Donaldson - sees ‘the party leader inviting a distinguished member of society to speak on weighty issues of the moment’. The event this year is being chaired by Alex Salmond and the speaker will be former SNP leader, Dr Gordon Wilson. Dr Wilson will be speaking about his recently published book ‘SNP – the turbulent years’, which covers the period where the SNP moved from being seen as something of a pressure group, to being a fully fledged political party, prepared for the devolved era.
BPPA Chairman said… “BPPA is delighted to be sponsoring the Donaldson Lecture at this year’s SNP Conference. British politics is facing major change and the SNP are growing in political significance. Clients can no longer afford to ignore them.”
