Bell Pottinger Public Affairs (BPPA) has been appointed by the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) to advise on their public affairs engagement activity across Westminster and Whitehall and to prepare the organisation for the potential impact of a Conservative government.
The ALMR is the only national trade body solely dedicated to representing the interests of pub and bar operators, with almost 100 member companies, between them operating over 15,000 outlets. Most members are small, independent companies, operating 50 or fewer outlets.
BPPA Chairman Peter Bingle said,
“We are delighted the ALMR has chosen to work with BPPA on this very exciting brief. We are looking forward to helping the ALMR promote this important industry at what is probably one of the most challenging times for the sector in years.”
Nick Bish, Chief Executive of ALMR, says
“The pub and bar industry not only plays a vital part in the social fabric of the nation but in doing so also makes a huge contribution to the exchequer. We need to make sure that these positive messages reach government and our wider audiences and we are glad to be working with Bell Pottinger to achieve this.”
The account team will be headed by BPPA Director Liam McCloy. He will be supported by Account Director Matt Lister. BPPA Chairman Peter Bingle will provide strategic counsel.
